How to pack a moving tote like a pro (without breaking your back)

Heavy items go on the bottom, fragile on top, and every tote gets a label. A simple packing system that makes unpacking painless.

Rule #1: books and dishes on the bottom, linens and lamps on top. Our totes handle up to 65 lbs but your knees will thank you if you keep each one under 40.

Rule #2: one room per tote. Mixing rooms slows unpacking to a crawl. Use the color-coded labels — kitchen, primary bedroom, kids, bathroom, living — and match them to a sign on each door at the new place.

Rule #3: pack the last-in, first-out tote. Coffee maker, chargers, toilet paper, a set of sheets per bed. Load it last so it comes off the truck first.
